ingredients
1 1/2 pound ground beef
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 cup caraway rye bread crumbs
1 egg
1/2 cup minced onion
1/4 cup sweet pickle relish
1/4 cup Thousand Island or creamy Russian salad dressing
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 can (16 ounce size) sauerkraut, drained
1 1/2 cup grated Swiss cheese
directions
In a large bowl, combine beef, Worcestershire sauce, bread crumbs, egg, onion, relish, salad dressing, salt and pepper. Blend ingredients well with hands.
Place mixture on a large sheet of waxed paper and shape into a 9" x 14" rectangle. Sprinkle with sauerkraut and grated cheese, leaving a 1" border around all edges. Carefully roll the mixture, jelly roll fashion, using waxed paper as a guide.
Place in a shallow baking dish and bake in a 350 degrees F oven for 1 hour.
