1 pound stew beef, cubed
1 medium onion, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
2 carrots, diced
3/4 cup barley
1 bay leaf
salt and pepper, to taste
6 cups beef stock

directions

Combine all the ingredients in the crock pot and stir well.

Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours or until the beef is cooked and the barley is tender.

Remove the bay leaf before serving.
