ingredients
2 tablespoons oil
1 pound top round steak
1 green bell pepper, wedged
1 onion, wedged
1 cup broccoli florets
1 clove garlic, diced
1 can beef consomme (broth)
5 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
4 tablespoons cornstarch
4 tablespoons water
directions
Brown steak strips in hot oil. Quickly add vegetables, garlic, brown sugar and consomme. Cover and simmer for about 10 minutes. Add soy sauce.
Combine water and cornstarch and add it to thicken the liquid. Simmer until thickened.
Serve over rice.
