2 tablespoons oil
1 pound top round steak
1 green bell pepper, wedged
1 onion, wedged
1 cup broccoli florets
1 clove garlic, diced
1 can beef consomme (broth)
5 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
4 tablespoons cornstarch
4 tablespoons water


Brown steak strips in hot oil. Quickly add vegetables, garlic, brown sugar, and consomme; cover and simmer about 10 minutes. Add soy sauce.

Combine water and cornstarch and add it to thicken the liquid. Simmer until thickened.

Serve over rice.
