under 30 minutes
ingredients
1 cup apple cider
1/3 cup dry sherry
1/4 cup raisins
3 tablespoons maple syrup
1 teaspoon unsalted butter
4 teaspoons country-style Dijon mustard
1 pound ham steak
directions
Preheat the broiler. Coat a broiler pan with cooking spray.
To make the sauce, in a small saucepan, combine the apple cider, sherry, raisins, and 1 tablespoon of the maple syrup. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Boil for 11-12 minutes, until reduced to 1/2 cup. Remove from the heat and swirl in the butter. Keep warm.
In a small bowl, combine the remaining 2 tablespoons maple syrup and the mustard. Place the ham steak on the broiler pan and broil 4 inches from the heat, turning once, for 8 minutes.
Brush with the mustard mixture and broil until lightly browned, 3-4 minutes longer. Serve with the sauce.
