Beer makes batters better, meat more tender, and sauces more flavorful.

1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 ripe medium bananas, mashed
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup toasted wheat germ
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup dried cherries or raisins
OR
6 ounces dried cranberries
3/4 cup chocolate chips
In a large mixing bowl, beat peanut butter and butter with electric mixer 30 seconds. Add brown sugar; beat until combined. Beat in egg and vanilla until mixed. Beat in bananas, baking soda and salt.
Mix in flours and germ. Stir in oats and cherries (or cranberries and chocolate chips). Drop by 1/4-cup measure 4 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Spread to 3-inch rounds.
Bake in 350 degrees F oven 15 to 16 minutes, or until edges are browned. Let stand 1 minute. Remove; cool on wire racks. Serve in 24 hours or freeze.

The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.
This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.

LOVE this recipe!!! It's a great grab and go breakfast too.

the kids and I made these this morning and they were a hit! I used almond butter rather than peanut butter as my 2 year old is still too young for peanut butter. I also added cinnamon as someone suggested. I found a Golden Berry dried fruit mix at Trader Joe's (golden raisins, cherries, blueberries and cranberries) and it was perfect! I found these cookies, slightly dry, but they were great with coffee or milk and the kids flipped for them regardless!

Bland and mealy with bad aftertaste. Followed the recipe to the letter. Won't waste ingredients on this again!

Excellent recipe. I used raisins instead of cherries and omitted the wheat germ (because I didn't have any on hand) and they came out great. These tasty cookies make for a good snack or quick breakfast.

These cookies are great for a busy schedule. I have made this recipe several times and I make them in large batches and individually wrap the cookies and store them in the freezer. I like to add dried cranberries and sometimes chocolate chips.

dense and filling - a family and work favorite. Perfect mid-day snack with a hot cup of coffee or big glass of ice cold milk.

These were pretty good. Definitely a hit with my husband and toddler. I added 1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips instead of cherries. They were a little "cakey" for my taste...perhaps some baking powder would have helped. Next time, I'd also add some cinnamon for extra flavor.
