This is one of my favorite cakes! Everyone always asks for the recipe. I don't add the peanuts instead I sprinkle chocolate shavings over the top, I've used both dark and white chocolate or a combo. Makes it really pretty and adds a little I think. In a pinch one time I used chocolate sprinkles.

This is the cake my family asks for at least once a week! It is VERY rich, so we don't eat it as much as they may like, but it's always requested. We omit the peanuts, but keep everything else the same. Was a great hit at our 4th of July party!

  3. cake lover REVIEW:

this cake was horrible I've had someone make a different version and it was way better. This recipe was not very good it tasted like a great cake ruined by the sc milk and strawberry topping next time I will not add the sc milk and just use fresh strawberrys with the whipped cream. Dissapointment!

I made this cake for my husbands birthday party. It was a big hit. Even my picky eater ate it!!! The only problem I had was getting the strawberry mixture to soak into the cake, even with the wholes. I think next time, and there will definately be a next time, I will pour the mix over the cake while it is still hot.
