1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup flour
1/2 cup finely chopped nuts
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup Cool Whip
1 small instant chocolate pudding mix
3 cups milk
1 small instant vanilla pudding mix
directions
Mix butter, flour and nuts and pat into a 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes and cool. Beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar and Cool Whip and spread over first layer. Beat remaining ingredients and spread over second layer.
Spread top with Cool Whip or whipped cream. Just before serving, decorate with additional chopped nuts and shaved chocolate.

I have made this recipe many times, and it is a birthday staple for a close friend of mine. I don't bother with the vanilla pudding. Chocolate is great! I also use some candied pecans mixed with regular pecans in the initial baking of the "crust" as it gives it an extra sweetness. A little more than the recipe calls for is also okay, especially if you use a throw-away foil pan as I do. This is a great dessert to bring for a group but be sure to bring a small personal pie for the host/hostess to enjoy later, as they may not get to taste the group pie!!!
