Sweet simplicity! Bread cubes are baked in a honey-custard sauce. Want to take it up a notch? Use cut up cinnamon rolls instead of bread!
1 2/3 cup day-old bread cubes
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons butter, melted and cooled
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 2/3 cup hot milk
chopped walnuts, optional
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Place the bread cubes in a small baking dish.
In a bowl, combine the honey, butter, salt, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
Slowly stir the hot milk into the honey mixture while whisking. Pour the mixture slowly and evenly over the bread cubes. Top with the chopped nuts if desired.
Place the baking dish inside a larger dish and place in the oven. Carefully pour water into the outer dish until it is one-inch deep.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 35-40 minutes or until the bread pudding is set.

I had a bunch of hamburger buns that had gotten a little too dry to use normally. Used them in this recipe and it was delicious!
