Almond-Glazed Pound Cake

Almond-Glazed Pound Cake - CDKitchen.com

ingredients

1 3/4 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup milk
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs

Almond Glaze

1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 tablespoon milk
1/4 teaspoon almond extract

directions

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9x5 loaf pan.

Beat all ingredients except almond glaze on low speed for 30 seconds. Beat on high speed 3 minutes then pour into pan. Bake pound cake for 60-65 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool 10 minutes, then remove from pan.

Brush with glaze. Place a sheet of waxed paper under cake to catch drippings.

For Almond Glaze: Mix all ingredients until smooth.
