This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.

A delicious layered casserole of creamy sour cream rice, three kinds of cheese, and chopped green chiles.

1 cup uncooked rice
2 cups sour cream
seasoned salt, to taste
1/4 pound Monterey jack cheese
1/4 pound provolone cheese
1 can (4 ounce size) chopped green chiles
Parmesan cheese, grated
butter
Cook rice according to directions on the package until almost done.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine rice with sour cream and season with salt to taste. Shred cheeses.
Spoon a layer of rice over the bottom of a lightly greased casserole dish. Sprinkle with half the cheese and green chilies. Repeat layers and top with grated Parmesan cheese. Dot with butter. Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
Not to be confused with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk is very sweet (and very sticky) and used primarily in desserts.

Delicious...but only used 1/2 the sour cream and cheeses I had. Also used sliced jalapeños instead.
