Green Lemon Limoncello
- add review
- #34276

over 5 hrs
ingredients
12 green lemons (just beginning to turn color)
1 quart 190 proof grain alcohol
1 1/2 quart water
1 1/2 pound sugar
directions
Zest the lemons (only the colored part, none of the bitter white pithy part). Add the zest to the alcohol. Let sit 2 weeks.
After the 2 weeks, warm water (use good, bottled mineral water) and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Cool the sugar water. Strain the lemon-flavored alcohol. Mix them and let sit for two weeks.
Keep it in the freezer and serve in ice-cold cordial glasses. Great after dinner. It's also good in Tejava iced tea, about 2 ounces to a glass.
