Cocoa Applesauce Bread

ingredients
1 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 dash ground nutmeg
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 cup applesauce
1/2 cup chopped pecans
VANILLA GLAZE
1/2 cup powdered sugar
3 1/2 teaspoons milk
directions
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease bottom only of 9- x 5- x 3-inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, stir together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add shortening, eggs and applesauce and beat just until blended. Stir in pecans.
Spoon mixture into prepared pan. Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes; remove from pan to wire rack. Cool completely.
Prepare vanilla glaze and drizzle over bread.
VANILLA GLAZE: In a small bowl, stir together powdered sugar and milk.
