Ranking #1 in nearly every "favorite cookie" poll, the chocolate chip cookie is pretty much the go-to cookie of choice for both kids and grownups alike.

Sometimes, you just want a meal that hits the spot without making you work too hard in the kitchen. Sauteed sirloin and mushrooms serve up all that comfort in one tasty package.

1 pound boneless beef sirloin steak, 1/2-inch thick
1/4 teaspoon garlic pepper
1 tablespoon butter
3/4 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 small onion, chopped
1 3/4 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
Cut the steak into serving pieces. Season all sides with the garlic pepper.
Heat the butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. When the butter is melted and the pan is hot, add the steaks and cook for 8-10 minutes or until desired doneness. Turn the steaks once during the cooking time.
Remove the steaks from the pan and place on a platter. Cover lightly with foil.
Add the beef broth and hoisin sauce to the pan. Bring to a boil and stir, scraping up any cooked on bits from the steaks. Add the onion and mushrooms. Reduce the heat to a strong simmer and cook for 8-10 minutes or until the onions are tender and the sauce is thick and has reduced by half.
Place the steaks on individual serving plates. Spoon the mushroom glaze over the steaks and serve immediately.
