This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.

ingredients
1 1/2 pound round steak, cut in 1/4" strips
1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 cup oil
1 cup canned tomatoes
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 3/4 cup beef broth
1 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 large green bell peppers, cut into strips
cooked noodles
directions
Coat the meat with the flour mixed with salt and pepper. Heat the oil in a large skillet and brown the meat in it on all sides.
Drain the tomatoes, reserving both tomatoes and liquid. Add liquid, the onion, garlic, and broth to meat. Cover and simmer until meat is tender, about 1 hour. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and pepper strips and cook 5 minutes. Add reserved tomatoes. Serve over noodles.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
