What's the secret ingredient in these cakes? Pudding mix. It not only adds flavor but it gives the cake a richer, creamier texture. No one will know your secret ingredient!

Instant potato flakes aren't just for mashed potatoes. Try breading your baked pork chops with them for a crispy finish. It's an unbeatable trick in a pinch.

2/3 cup instant potato flakes
1 egg, beaten
3 tablespoons milk
4 medium pork chops
salt and pepper, to taste
paprika
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Grease a baking dish.
Place the potato flakes in a shallow dish. Whisk together the egg and milk in another shallow dish.
Dredge the pork chops in the egg mixture, coating completely and letting any excess drip off. Next, dredge the pork in the potato flakes, coating them completely. Place the coated pork chops in the baking dish in a single layer.
Sprinkle the pork chops with salt, pepper, and paprika. Place the baking dish in the oven and bake at 400 degrees F for 45 minutes or until the pork is cooked through (actual cook time will depend on the thickness of the pork chops).
Serve the crispy potato flakes pork chops hot.

Not to be confused with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk is very sweet (and very sticky) and used primarily in desserts.
Beer makes batters better, meat more tender, and sauces more flavorful.
