16 ounces refrigerated crescent rolls
16 ounces refried beans
1 cup sour cream
1 envelope taco seasoning mix
6 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup chopped green onions
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 cup tomatoes, seeded and chopped
1/2 cup sliced black olives

directions
Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
Unroll dough into 4 long rectangles. Place crosswise on an ungreased 15x10x1 inch baking sheet; press over bottom and 1 inch up sides to form crust. Firmly press perforations to seal.
Bake at 375 degrees F for 14 to 19 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool completely. Spread beans over crust to within 1/2 inch of edges.
In a small bowl, combine sour cream and taco seasoning mix; mix well. Spread sour cream mixture over beans. Sprinkle cheese, onions, green pepper, tomatoes and olives evenly over sour cream.
Cover and refrigerate 1 hour. Cut into squares. Serve with salsa if desired.

Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

The cresents are in triangles so difficult to understand cutting into squares - the taco mix is way too salty - this would be much better with the sour cream mixed with seasonings like cumin, some chili powder and diced jalepenoes. I also believe it would be better with the cheese melted onto the warm 'squares' making it easier to eat.

This recipe calls for sour cream in the directions but doesn't list how much in the "required ingredients"??
