This green chile barbecue sauce is the perfect addition to your next cookout. Spicy and flavorful, it will liven up any grilled meats or veggies.

1 can (11 ounce size) diced green chiles
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 cup ketchup
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup white vinegar
1 cup tomato juice
1/2 cup water
Combine all the ingredients in a large saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil then immediately reduce the heat to a simmer. Mix well and let cook for 30 minutes, stirring frequently.
Use the green chile barbecue sauce immediately or let cool then store in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
