Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
Smoked Oyster Roll

ingredients
1 package (8 ounce size) cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons onion, grated
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 cans smoked oysters, chopped and drained
salt and pepper, to taste
directions
Combine all ingredients except oysters. Spread mixture on a large rectangle of plastic wrap; forming a rectangle about an inch thick. Chill an hour or two.
Spread chopped oysters over cheese mixture. Roll up, jelly roll fashion, peeling the plastic wrap off as you roll. Garnish with parsley and olives. Serve with crackers.
