The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.
Chicken And Potatoes Oregano

ingredients
5 medium potatoes
1/2 cup butter
1 medium onion, chopped
4 split chicken breasts
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
3/4 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon Italian seasonings
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
directions
Peel potatoes and cut into 1" cubes. Set aside.
Melt butter in heavy skillet, such as cast iron. Add onions and saute until golden brown. Add chicken breasts and potatoes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Cover and cook on medium heat 20 minutes, turning often. Sprinkle with oregano and Italian seasonings. Continue to cook, turning often, for another 20 minutes.
Sprinkle with parsley and continue to cook until chicken is done to your satisfaction.

I've made this a couple of times. My wife approves and the kids like it. The cook time shown here is way too high. You'll end up with a black mess of carmelized onions stuck in your pan, and the potatos will be mush. Whereever it says 20 minutes, make it 10.
