Beef Vegetable and Barley Soup Starter Mix

ingredients
1/2 cup barley
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 cup dried split peas
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
3 beef bouillon cubes, crushed
1 bay leaf
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
directions
Combine the ingredients and store in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
To use, add the soup starter to 4 cups water. Add cubed beef and vegetables if desired. Remove the bay leaf before serving.
