3 ounces blue colored raspberry vodka
3 ounces Triple Sec
6 ounces lemonade
4 drops blue food coloring
whipped cream
12 fresh raspberries
In a cocktail shaker filled 2/3 with ice, add raspberry vodka, Triple Sec, lemonade and food coloring. Shake until very cold (at least 45 seconds).
Divide into very chilled martini glasses and top with generous dollop of whipped cream. Drop six raspberries in each glass, making sure 1 or 2 stay on the whipped cream. Add a red stir stick and your Memorial Day, July 4th or Labor Day is off to a great start.
I was feeling particularly patriotic today (the Friday before Memorial Day) and remembered that I had a blue liquor somewhere. When I found it I was thrilled to find that it was raspberry flavored. I first added mango lemonade, but it turned it green. Tasted good, however, not so patriotic looking. So I went for the lemonade and a few drops of food coloring and Lee Greenwood's song "Proud to be an American" leaped out of the glass. Hope you have a safe, happy holiday.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
