Not to be confused with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk is very sweet (and very sticky) and used primarily in desserts.

Thanks to some Silk Nog, this creamy holiday treat is going vegan. Splashes of rum and brandy along with cinnamon and nutmeg make this cocktail a splendid choice for those chilly nights.

1 quart Silk Nog
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 tablespoons rum
4 tablespoons brandy
Put Nog, sugar, and spices in a saucepan. Simmer over low heat, stirring constantly, until very warm, but not boiling. Turn off heat. Add vanilla.
Divide mixture into mugs. Add 1 Tbsp each rum and brandy to each mug.
Non-Alcoholic: Add 1/4 tsp each rum and brandy flavoring to each mug.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.
