Kamikazes are dangerously drinkable vodka shots with a bit of a pucker from lime juice and sweet and sour. Definitely don't want to be piloting anything after a few of these.

serves/makes:

ready in:
  under 30 minutes

ingredients

ice cubes
1 shot vodka
1 dash rose's lime juice (sweetened lime juice)
1 dash triple sec
1 dash sour mix

directions

Fill a cocktail shaker half full with ice.

Add the vodka, lime juice, triple sec, and sour mix. Shake the cocktail well then strain it into a large shot glass.

Serve immediately.

recipe tips

Chill the shot glasses in the freezer before serving for an extra cold shot.

Shake the cocktail vigorously to chill the drink.

Serve the shots immediately after shaking so the ice in the shaker doesn't dilute them.

For a tart twist, add a squeeze of fresh lime juice to the shaker.

Enjoy responsibly and always be mindful of alcohol consumption. Remember that these shots are strong, so pace yourself and ensure you're not driving.

common recipe questions

Can I use fresh lime juice instead of Rose's lime juice?

Yes, you can use fresh lime juice, but you may want to add a bit of simple syrup for sweetness. Rose's lime juice is sweeter than plain lime juice and is meant to be used in cocktails.

How can I make this drink less sweet?

Reduce the amount of sour mix and sweetened lime juice, or increase the amount of vodka.

Can I serve this as a cocktail instead of a shot?

Yes, you can serve it over ice in a rocks glass for a sippable cocktail.

Is there a substitute for triple sec?

You can use other orange liqueurs like Cointreau or Grand Marnier.

How do I measure a "dash" in this recipe?

A dash typically means a small pour or a few drops, roughly equivalent to 1/8 teaspoon.

Can I make a large batch of this drink for a party?

Yes, change the servings to the number you need and mix in a large pitcher (without ice). Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

What's the best type of vodka to use?

Use a good quality vodka for a smoother taste, but any vodka will work.

Can I garnish this shot?

Garnish with a lime wedge or twist for added flair.
