Frosty Fruit Salad

ingredients
2 cups sugar
1 dash salt
1 quart buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 can (20 ounce size) crushed pineapple, drained
1 can (17 ounce size) fruit cocktail, drained
directions
In large bowl, combine sugar, salt, buttermilk, and vanilla until well mixed. Gently stir in the drained fruits.
Pour into two 9" pans. Freeze until firm. Cut into squares.

This is a surprising good dessert. Very easy and a make ahead. I have had this recipe for a number of years and every time I made it I always got compliments. I usually add a few extra maraschino cherries just because I like them.
