It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).

Ham and hash browns slow cooked in a cheesy sauce make a great breakfast or side dish.

1 package (28 ounce size) frozen hash brown potatoes
2 cups cubed fully cooked ham
1 small onion, diced
1 can (10 ounce size) cheddar cheese soup
3/4 cup milk
salt, to taste
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Break up the frozen potatoes if needed and combine with the ham and onion in the crock pot.
In a bowl, stir together the soup, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour over the potatoes.
Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 2-3 hours or until the potatoes are tender and heated through. Serve hot.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
Love buffalo wings? Get that same hot, zippy flavor in everything from deviled eggs to enchiladas. And of course: wings.
