ingredients

2 cups unsweetened frozen strawberries
1 3/4 cup frozen non dairy whipped topping
1 1/2 cup water
1 1/2 cup crushed ice
1/4 cup granulated sugar

directions

Place the strawberries in a blender and pulse for a few seconds to break them up. Add the whipped topping, water, ice, and sugar. Cover and process until desired consistency. Add additional water or ice to adjust the density of the shake.

Serve immediately in tall glasses with a straw or spoon (depending how thick you make it).

cook's notes

You can use fat free cool whip instead of regular and substitute something like Splenda or other sugar substitute for the regular sugar. Do not thaw the strawberries. If you use sweetened strawberries omit the sugar.

  1. Avery REVIEW:

My new addiction! I used frozen nonfat vanilla yogurt and stevia for the sweetner and home-frozen strawberries from last summer. Fantastic! We had a bumper crop of strawberries last year that we froze so I have enough for several more of these frosties.

This smoothie is pretty dope! I plan on making it from now on.

  3. Guest Foodie REVIEW:

My daughter and I made half a batch (it filled the blender!). We substituted plain yogurt for the whipped topping. It's pretty good, but it could use a little more flavor or pizazze. Hate to put in more sugar... maybe a splash of strawberry flavoring.

I made these for me and the kids. We all loved them. I made one modification: I didn't have "whipped topping" on hand, so I started by putting in 1 cup whipping cream and the sugar, which I increased to half a cup (I will probably try it again with 6 Tbsp.). I whipped the cream and sugar in the blender for about 30 seconds or so, just long enough to get a whipped topping consistency. Then I added everything else. Just writing about it makes me want to make more!

  5. Guest Foodie REVIEW:

This is an awesome frosty and it does not take much or a lot of time. Great all the way around.
