Skip the sauce and go for a rub to get a flavorful, spicy crust. The mix of brown sugar and chili powder in this rub gives a craveable sweet heat to steak, and only takes a few minutes to throw together.
1 tablespoon dried Mexican oregano
1 tablespoon dried thyme
1 tablespoon dried basil
2 tablespoons granulated garlic
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons dark chili powder
2 tablespoons paprika
2 teaspoons dry mustard
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Grind together the oregano, thyme, basil, garlic, and granulated sugar in a spice grinder or food processor. Process until very fine.
Combine the mixture with the remaining ingredients in a bowl and mix together well. Use immediately or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 months.
To use, rub the mixture on all sides of the steaks and then grill or cook as desired.

I thought it was terrific! i loved the sweetness and the blend of seasonings. really delicious.
Too sweet indeed. Less sugar.
The consensus on this one was...too sweet. The spice combination was good...just 86 at least 1/2 of the sugar.
