Who doesn't want the smell of fresh bread wafting through their home? With this easy 9 grain bread recipe, you can be that person with practically no effort at all.

7/8 cup warm water
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup bread flour
1/2 cup 9-grain cereal, lightly crushed
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, softened or cut into bits
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon nonfat dry milk
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
Combine all the ingredients in the bread machine in the order recommended by the machine manufacturer. Set the unit to use a light crust with the whole wheat setting, if the machine has it.
When the bake cycle is finished, remove the bread from the pan and let cool completely on a wire rack before slicing and storing.
Store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
What's the secret ingredient in these cakes? Pudding mix. It not only adds flavor but it gives the cake a richer, creamier texture. No one will know your secret ingredient!

I think this recipe is really great. I used 7-grain cereal because that was all that was immediately available. I also had to add quite a bit of water as it was mixing, so the second time I started with 1 cup of water, and that worked better.
