- #54811
ingredients
4 firm ripe Bosc pears
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup golden raisins
3 tablespoons Amaretto liqueur
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon water, divided
directions
Carefully peel the pears then remove the cores. Cut each pear into 8 wedges.
Place the pears, water, sugar, raisins, amaretto, nutmeg, and salt in a skillet over medium heat. Bring the liquid to a boil then reduce the heat to a low simmer. Cover the skillet and let the pears cook until tender, about 10 minutes.
Combine the cornstarch and water and mix until smooth. Stir the mixture into the liquid in the skillet. Cook, stirring constantly, for one minute or until the liquid has thickened.
Serve the pears and the syrup immediately. Delicious served over ice cream or pound cake.

A yummy and super fast fruit dessert. You can use other liquors too ... Grand Marnier for one. I add a dollop of sweet whipped cream atop each serving and its really tasty.
