ingredients

1 quart raw cabbage
1 quart cooked beets
2 cups sugar PLUS"PLUS" means this ingredient in addition to the one on the next line, often with divided uses
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon red pepper
2/3 cup grated prepared horseradish
white vinegar

directions

Chop cabbage and beets. Add seasonings and horseradish. Mix thoroughly. Cover with cold vinegar.

Put into quart jars. Cover and refrigerate. Will keep up to one year in refrigerator.
