- #102670
ingredients
1 large container sour cream
2 cups Cheddar cheese, grated or cubed
1 can real bacon bits
chives or green onion
directions
Mix all ingredients and let chill for 2 hours. You may need to add a little milk to thin it out.
This is always a hit and it's always all gone. When you serve it with potato chips it tastes like you're eating a baked potato!

Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

This recipe took 1st place at a work appetizer-munchie cook-off contest with great reviews! Just want to add I used a 16 oz container of sour cream and 3/4 cup of bacon bits. I diced up 1 whole green onion, green/chive part included. I also topped the dip with a garnish of cheese, bacon bits, & chive. I didn't add milk, liked it thicker. Serves alot more than 4. Excellant crowd pleaser! Next I want to try it as a topping for baked potato.
