Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

what are patty shells?
No comment - Question - Would like to try recipe, but am unsure about salad dressing. What kind???
Typically when a recipe just refers to "salad dressing" it means something like Miracle Whip.

Absolutely delicious. Serve lemon wedges with it. I was a little worried about trying something new for my Mah Jongg luncheon (10 ladies)where there were NO reviews on the recipe. Not to worry. Also, after baking the pastry shells, they seemed too small but it was not a problem because I filled them and added extra filling on the side. Two ladies don't eat shellfish so I made the filling, without the crab, took 1/6th of it and added canned chicken breast, then added the crabmeat to the remainder. Rave reviews all around. Thank you!
