1 sheet Japanese nori 1 cup sticky Japanese rice 1 tablespoon white vinegar 1 tablespoon sugar 2 sticks imitation crab 1 tablespoon mayonnaise 1/2 avocado 3 tablespoons soy sauce
Mix the vinegar and sugar together until sugar is dissolved. Pour the vinegar mix over sticky rice and mix gently.
Thinly spread (about 1/4 inch thick) the rice onto the nori sheet. Shred the crab sticks, and cut the avocado into thin slices. Place pieces of crab sticks and avocado slices onto the rice and roll carefully. Dip sushi into soy sauce for taste.
For being such a simple California roll, this recipe is quite tasty. Only issue we had with the recipe was that it didn't specify what to do with the mayonnaise (FYI: you should mix it with the crab). We also tried this with brown rice and it was equally good.
