ingredients
1 pound bitter gourd
2 small potatoes
1 green chili pepper
1/4 teaspoon nigella seeds
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
salt, to taste
2 tablespoons cooking oil
directions
Wash and peel potatoes. Cut potatoes into a disc shape with a thickness of 1/2 inch. Then pile them together and cut them together lengthwise. Do the same for the gourd (do not peel) and then wash it.
Heat oil. Add the nigella seeds. When they start spluttering, add the bitter gourd. Stir it for a minute. Then add the potatoes and stir for another minute.
Add turmeric powder, salt and slit green chili. Stir fry until the potato and the bitter gourd are well cooked.
Serve hot with rice. Goes as a side dish for any lunch.
