1 pound kielbasa sausage 1 small onion, chopped 2 tablespoons butter 1 can (12 ounce size) beer (dark is better) 1/3 cup honey 3 tablespoons spicy, brown or Dijon mustard pepper and/or chili powder (or favorite spices), to taste
directions
Slice kielbasa into 1/2-inch medallions. Saute onion in butter until onions are transparent.
In a large skillet, bring 1/2 can of beer to a slow boil and add kielbasa. Cook until the beer is reduced by half, then add the remaining 1/2 can of beer.
Add honey and mustard, and add spices to taste. Let simmer for 5 minutes or until sauce reaches a thick, honeylike consistency.
Onions may be mixed into the finished sauce, or added to the top as garnish.
Don't agree that dark beer is better. I used a dark beer and the sauce came out very bitter. I would recommend a more mild or lighter beer, though it is a really good recipe.

The type of beer you use will vary the flavor - so keep that in mind (in other words, use good beer!). While the title of the recipe is "Sweet" Onion Kielbasa, the flavor isn't overly sweet (unless you use a sweeter beer of course). Can eat this alone, or serve it over a starch such as rice or pasta. This recipe was ready in about 20 minutes so it's good for a quick dinner.
Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
What's the secret ingredient in these cakes? Pudding mix. It not only adds flavor but it gives the cake a richer, creamier texture. No one will know your secret ingredient!
