Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

I have made this recipe several times and love it. I leave out the 1 cup of sugar, it doesn't need it, the juice is sweet enough.

This recipe has been made in my family for years. You can substitute any liquor and any juice. My favorite is cranberry juice and Vodka. Also, an icecream bucket works better than a pan and I'm a bit of a lush. I usually double the alcohol.

This is a favorite with our family! We don't typically have alcohol at family gatherings, but everyone loves this one. It's a holiday treat! You should definitely try this one!
