Beer makes batters better, meat more tender, and sauces more flavorful.

A punch version of the popular Polynesian tiki drink, the Mai Tai. Made with pineapple, orange, lemon and limeade. Mixed with rum and some sugar to sweeten. The fun part is the array of garnish ideas included to customize your drinks.
Mai-Tai
2 quarts pineapple juice, chilled
3 cups light rum, chilled
1 cup orange juice, chilled
1/2 cup prepared limeade, chilled
1/3 cup lemon juice, chilled
1/2 cup sugar
Garnishes
maraschino cherries
orange, lemon or lime slices
orange, lemon or lime peel, cut into thin strips
mint leaves
fresh pineapple wedges or spears
Combine the pineapple juice, rum, orange juice, limeade, lemon juice, and sugar in a 4-quart plastic or glass pitcher. Place in the refrigerator to chill until ready to serve.
Place desired garnishes in individual bowls or containers. Pour the mai tai punch over ice in individual glasses and let guests garnish as desired.

Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

Half the fun is putting together all the garnishes! We had this for my daughter's college graduation party. Very tasty and refreshing too.

Quite fruity and good but still packs a decent wollop of booze. I actually goofed when I made it and added 1/2 cup of limeade concentrate, not prepared! Fortunately I had more of the other ingredients on hand so I just ended up doubling the rest of the recipe. Which was actually a good thing because everyone really enjoyed it and drank more of it than I thought they would (going away party for some friends)

I love this punch! I used cherries and pineapple and just put them in the punch bowl instead of having them separate.
