These no-bake oatmeal cookies are loaded with chocolate and peanut butter. Good luck eating just one.
2 cups sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter
3 cups instant oatmeal
Spread a piece of aluminum foil or waxed paper out on the counter ahead of time.
Combine the sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and butter in a saucepan over high heat. Bring to a boil and let boil for exactly one minute after it comes to a full boil. Remove the pan from the heat.
Stir the vanilla, peanut butter, and oatmeal into the sugar mixture and mix quickly to combine.
Drop the cookie batter by spoonfuls onto the foil or waxed paper. Let cool completely. Store the cookies in an airtight container.

If the cookies are crumbly it is because they boiled too long. If they don't set up it means they didn't boil long enough. You need to cook them at a rolling boil for 1 minute exactly.

Not to be confused with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk is very sweet (and very sticky) and used primarily in desserts.
This Italian cheese is so versatile that it can be used in both sweet and savory recipes from cheesecakes to lasagnas.

I add nuts, raisins and coconut and sometimes take out the peanut butter for extra chocolate fix
I have eaten these before and they are delicious, really anxious to try to make some tomorrow. Thanks for a great and easy sounding recipe.

Theses were awesome! I used 4 tsp of the "special dark" mini's instead of the powdered cocoa.

This is the best no bake recipe I've found! Thanks. Also, I cut the sugar back a bit and added more cocoa- no taste difference, better for you!
In my family recipe, we take a glass of water and let a drop of the boiled mixture fall into it. If the drop forms a ball and sinks to the bottom of the cup then you know the mixture is ready and the cookies always harden. Just another way to make sure your cookies turn out right.

Super easy and really good! Make sure you have a glass of milk to wash it down :)

My recipe did not include peanut butter and called for 4 1/2 cups of oats. I don't make them often because they're EXTREMELY addictive and I can't stop eating them until their gone! My kids love them because they get to drop them on the cookie sheet. Very chocolatey, and VERY good! This is my second favorite cookie recipe (my fav being chewy chocolate chip... because I like to eat the dough!)

Last week I followed another recipe that said to boil for 3 minutes--the cookies turned out crumbly and hard--like hockey pucks! Thanks for your extra advice that gaves reasons for a gooey cookie or a crumbly! I made your recipe and it turned out great! Thanks :)
