under 30 minutes
ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
salt and pepper
1 can evaporated milk
1 milk can water
directions
Crumble hamburger into saucepan and stir until brown on medium heat. Add flour, salt and pepper to taste. Cook 2-3 minutes stirring constantly.
Add milk and water together and pour into pan. Cook until thick. If gravy becomes to thick, adjust with more milk or water. Serve over toast or biscuits.
cook's notes
Goes great over fried potatoes, hash browns or scrambled eggs. It also goes well with mashed potatoes or white rice for dinner.
My mom, was from Georgia. Dad always said he taught her how to cook since he was a chef in the Army back during the Korean War. I'm not sure how much he taught her or how original this recipe is but she taught me how to cook and I have made my adaptions to some of her recipes but this is exactly how she taught me to make hamburger gravy.

Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
