Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
Beer makes batters better, meat more tender, and sauces more flavorful.

This recipe was good but overall I was somewhat disappointed. It is really a cake rather than a bar. I thought 50 minutes was too long; it was overbaked but may have been the temperature. If you try this, bake at 350 and set your time for 45 minutes to check. I thought it was better served warm, with ice cream or maybe a caramel sauce
I just made my first Apple Crisp Brownies and popped them in the oven! The oven temp was missing from the recipe so I assumed it might be 350? Just wanted to let you know; will rate when I have my first taste! Thanks, Sandy
