ingredients
3 cinnamon sticks (4-inch size)
1/4 cup sugar
3 tablespoons quick cooking tapioca
1 cup pared, cubed apple
1 cup pitted dried prunes
1 cup dried apricots
1/4 cup light or dark raisins
1/2 lemon, sliced
directions
Combine all ingredients, except apple cubes, in 3-quart saucepan. Add 6 cups water; bring to boiling, stirring.
Reduce heat; simmer, covered, 20 minutes, or until fruit is tender and tapioca is cooked. Stir occasionally.
Add apple cubes; simmer, covered, 5 minutes. Remove cinnamon. Serve, warm or cold, as a dessert.
