Fresh Fruit Macerated In Orange Liqueur

ingredients
3 medium nectarines
1 pint strawberries, lightly rinsed and hulled
1 pint blackberries or raspberries
3 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons fresh, strained lemon juice
2 tablespoons orange-flavored liqueur
sweetened whipped cream, ice cream or sorbet
directions
Slice nectarines in wedges, cutting inward toward the pits. Put the slices in a bowl. Quarter strawberries lengthwise and add to bowl. Add blackberries.
Sprinkle fruit with sugar, lemon juice and liqueur. Using a rubber spatula, mix ingredients as gently as possible.
Taste and add more sugar, lemon juice and liqueur, if needed. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for about 1 hour.
To serve, divide fruit mixture among individual stemmed glasses or dessert dishes.
Serve with sweetened whipped cream, ice cream or sorbet.
