An easy skillet-cooked salmon recipe with the perfect amount of teriyaki flavor
1 1/2 pound fresh salmon fillets or steaks
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon (or more) minced garlic
1/4 cup sliced green onions
2 tablespoons sesame seeds, optional
Heat sesame oil in large skillet. Lightly saute salmon on low heat until color is opaque (2 to 3 minutes on each side).
Meanwhile, mix remaining ingredients in small bowl; pour over salmon. Cover and simmer until fish is cooked through (4 to 5 minutes). Remove fish to platter and serve.
If desired, thicken sauce with a mixture of 1 tablespoon cornstarch and 2 tablespoons water.
