ingredients
1 cup packed brown sugar 6 tablespoons bourbon 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice 2 teaspoons grated peeled fresh ginger 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 2 cloves crushed garlic 8 (6-ounces each) salmon fillets (about 1 inch thick) non-stick cooking spray 4 teaspoons sesame seeds 1/2 cup thinly sliced green onions
directions
Combine the first 8 ingredients in a large zip-top plastic bag; add salmon fillets. Seal bag, and marinate in refrigerator 30 minutes, turning bag once.
Remove fillets from bag; discard marinade. Preheat broiler. Place fillets on broiler pan coated with cooking spray. Broil 11 minutes or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork.
Sprinkle each fillet with 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds and 1 tablespoon onions.
I really enjoyed this recipe! It was easy to make and turned out wonderfully! I forgot to add the sesame seeds & green onions, but it still tasted great. It looked beautiful and the marinade really caramelized on the salmon nicely. I did think that there wasn't enough flavor in the thicker portions of the fish. Perhaps reserving some of the marinade and reducing it to serve as a glaze with the salmon would rectify this problem. Thanks for the recipe!!
Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
What's the secret ingredient in these cakes? Pudding mix. It not only adds flavor but it gives the cake a richer, creamier texture. No one will know your secret ingredient!
