Chocolate-Hazelnut Crunch Bars

ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cut into 10 pieces
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup finely chopped hazelnuts, PLUS"PLUS" means this ingredient in addition to the one on the next line, often with divided uses
1/4 cup finely chopped hazelnuts
1/2 cup Nutella or other chocolate-hazelnut spread
directions
Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
Heat together butter and brown sugar in a medium size saucepan over medium-high heat until the mixture is melted, smooth, and bubbly.
Remove saucepan from heat. Stir in the flour, then the first measure of chopped hazelnuts to make a stiff dough. Spread and press dough into 8" by 8" square baking pan.
Bake in a 350 degrees F oven for 20 to 22 minutes or until top is rich golden brown and edges are firm. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
Spread top evenly with the chocolate-hazelnut spread. Sprinkle with the remaining chopped hazelnuts. Serve at room temperature or chilled.
