This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.
Slow Cooker Forgotten Smoky Molasses Short Ribs
- add review
- #127754
ingredients
4 pounds beef short ribs
salt and pepper
1 can (8 ounce size) tomato sauce
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 tablespoon instant minced onion
2 tablespoons molasses
1 teaspoon Liquid Smoke
directions
Sprinkle salt and pepper on all sides of ribs and put into a Dutch oven or heavy 3 quart casserole.
In a small pan, combine remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Pour over ribs. Cover and bake at 275 degrees F for 3 to 4 hours or until tender.
Can also be cooked in a crock pot on Low for 8 to 10 hours. Leftovers make a wonderful stew with carrots and potatoes added. Also works very well with pot roast.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
