Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
This Italian cheese is so versatile that it can be used in both sweet and savory recipes from cheesecakes to lasagnas.

The other ingredients totally mask the fact that you used a mix! It's really good. VERY RICH though. If you like sweets you'll love this. It's very sweet though so be warned.

I used frozen strawberries because it's too late in the season to get good strawberries here. I think the strawberry mixture really made the brownies nice and moist. You really can't taste any of the banana but you get a hint of the strawberries in the brownies.

Don't be fooled into thinking these are anywhere near healthy because of the addition of the banana and strawberries, they are RICH and DECADENT! The mashed fruit adds moisture and texture to the brownies. The cream cheese frosting was a little on the sweet side for us but the flavor of the strawberry cream cheese worked well with the recipe (you could substitute a different frosting if you wish). This was a fun way to use a packaged brownie mix without ending up with it tasting like it came from a box!
