ingredients
1 box (18.25 oz size) chocolate cake mix
1 stick butter, at room temperature
1/4 cup brown sugar, tightly packed
1/4 cup water
2 eggs
1/2 cup finely chopped nuts
Topping
1 can (16 ounce size) chocolate frosting
1/2 cup chopped nuts
directions
Preheat oven to 375F. Butter and flour a 9 x 13" baking pan.
Mix together everything except topping ingredients, and beat until smooth. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan and bake until top is firm when touched, 25 to 30 minutes. Do not overbake. Cool 15 minutes. Run a knife around the edge of the brownies to loosen and invert onto a platter.
Spread the top with frosting and sprinkle with nuts. Cut into bars.
