ingredients
1 cup sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
12 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 cup chopped nuts, pecans or walnuts
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Glaze
1 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon white corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
directions
Sift dry ingredients together. Melt butter and cocoa in medium to large saucepan. Add sugar, mixing well. Remove from heat, add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in nuts and sifted dry ingredients.
Stir in Vanilla. Spread in 13x9x2-inch baking dish you have sprayed with non-stick coating. Bake on center rack position of oven in preheated 350 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Do not overbake or they will be dry. Glaze right from oven.
