Frosted Pineapple Squares Recipe

Ingredients:
1/2 cup margarine, room temperature
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup crushed pineapple, drained, reserve juice for frosting
1/2 teaspoon almond extract (I use pineapple flavor)
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (or pecans or sliced almonds)
***Frosting***
1 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
3 tablespoons margarine, softened
5 teaspoons pineapple juice
Directions:
For Bottom Layer: Combine butter, sugar and flour in bowl. Mix using pastry blender. Pack into bottom of 9"x9" pan. Bake at 350 F for 15 minutes.
For Top Layer: Beat eggs slightly. Add remaining ingredients. Stir to mix.
Spread over shortbread base. Bake at 350 F for 30-32 minutes. Cut into squares.
For Frosting: Beat margarine and sugar, adding juice a few drops at a time. Spread over bars.
