Frosted Pineapple Squares

ingredients
1/2 cup margarine, room temperature
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup crushed pineapple, drained, reserve juice for frosting
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 cup chopped walnuts, pecans or sliced almonds
Frosting
1 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
3 tablespoons margarine, softened
5 teaspoons pineapple juice
directions
Combine butter, sugar and flour in bowl. Mix using a pastry blender. Pack into the bottom of a 9" x 9" pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes.
For Top Layer: Beat eggs slightly. Add remaining ingredients. Stir to mix.
Spread over shortbread base. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-32 minutes. Cut into squares.
For Frosting: Beat margarine and sugar, adding juice a few drops at a time. Spread over bars.
